Blood pressure monitors and thermometers

With a blood pressure monitor, you can easily measure your blood pressure at home. If you are being treated for high blood pressure, you can be sure that your blood pressure is good. Talk to your doctor if you are unsure. If you measure your high blood pressure without being careful, you need to go to a health center to get a new measurement.

Hypertension

High blood pressure is now a common condition. Hypertension increases the risk of serious problems such as stroke, heart attack and heart failure. The causes behind high blood pressure can vary, but the advice is often similar: Avoid being overweight, focus on healthy food and exercise often are important parts. With a device at home, you can check your blood pressure yourself. If that doesn't help, the doctor will prescribe medication. You can then retrieve your prescriptions via your prescription page.

Many, if not most, people do not feel high blood pressure. This may explain why it is easy to miss their medication for hypertension. One way to increase motivation for medication and lifestyle changes required to get over your blood pressure can be to regularly measure with your own blood pressure monitor. To facilitate this, we have several good and simple blood pressure monitors from Omron, Braun and Beurer, which will help you make the right changes.

What does high blood pressure mean?

Blood pressure is measured in millimeters of mercury, mm Hg. It is indicated by two numbers, for example 110/80. The first number, 110, shows the positive pressure that occurs when the heart pumps blood out into the body. The second number, 80, shows the negative pressure. It is measured when the heart relaxes and fills with new blood.

Low blood pressure (hypotension): below 90/60 and clear symptoms

Normal blood pressure: 90-139/60-89

High blood pressure (hypertension): 140/90 or higher

Different degrees of hypertension:

Mild hypertension (grade I): 140–159/90–99 mmHg

Moderate hypertension (grade II): 160–179/100–109 mmHg

Severe hypertension (grade III): >180/>110 mmHg

Isolated systolic hypertension (high blood pressure only): >140/<90 mmHg
